So you were not successful at the interview. That’s ok, there are things to be learnt from the experience, although it might be hard to hear at the moment. Here are few techniques you can apply to gain further insight around the experience which will help with the next interview you attend.

It was not a failure but an opportunity to:

o   Reflect – reflect on your abilities, language used, intention set, environmental features

o   Learn – new skills, new language, to show self-confidence

o   Change – consider the employer’s perspective, potential colleagues and the room to grow in your own thinking

Some questions you can ask yourself may include:

o   How could I have re-worded my response if I was asked again?

o   What am I looking for in my optimal workplace/employer?

o   What sounded challenging/positive? How could I include/address these in another situation?

o   How did I feel? Do I have all the necessary skills to start in the position?

o   Does my mindset support growth?

o   What are my beliefs and values and were they supported in this workplace?

When the outcome is not as you expected, sometimes it is just not meant to be. It may have been that you had new skills to learn by going through this process. This will help for your optimal job that is coming.

Keep going, it’s coming your way!

To support your growth, kinesiology is a great modality to help prepare for your next interview. Kinesiology looks at reducing any stress you have towards the situation. A session can identify limiting beliefs towards your ability or the situation allowing for your true potential to shine through in the next interview. Role play scenarios are often used, along with visualizing a positive outcome can offer clients a positive mindset in preparation for the next interview.
