5 strategies for gaining clarity in your life

When we have clarity in our lives, we have clear outcomes and can set intentions. We know the direction forward when faced with challenges and opportunities for growth and can continue towards gaining an understanding of our purpose in life and relationships.

Here are five tips to gain clarity in your life:

  1. What matters the most to you

Take the time to be specific about matters to you. Define what is important to you in all aspects of your life, including love, work and social.

2.            Do one thing at a time

Multi-tasking used to be a priority skill set. We were often on automatic pilot completing many tasks at once, but were we efficient? Reduce how many things you are doing at the same time. Focusing on one task at a time and completing it brings a level of satisfaction and achievement. There is something to be said for ‘ticking off the list’ at the end of the day.

3.            Clear away the clutter and distractions

What is distracting you at the moment? What is standing in the way of you completing tasks? We can be distracted by computer screens, noises and social media. Take the time to stop, listen and bring awareness to the distractions that surround you. You may be uncomfortable, hungry or thirsty. Take 10 minutes to refine and redesign your clear thinking space.

4.            Write down your ultimate goals

Get clear about goals and pathways you want to reach. Writing down your goals brings clarity and can address any distractions that may arise. Be aware of the belief systems which may hinder your success in achieving these goals. Journaling can be a great tool for creating calmness and purpose in your life.

5.            Be quiet

Take just five minutes in your day to remove the distractions and bring you back to a space of intent. Practise deep breathing, refocus the mind and enjoy the peace and quiet. Listen to the sounds which surround you, often unheard or absorbed in your day. Meditation is a great way to calm the mind and body and allows you to be quiet for a period of time.
